Photographs and miscellaneous papers of John Andreassen, a founder of the Society of American Archivists. John Andreassen was born in Bloomer, Wis. From 1968 until his retirement in 1977, he was an archivist at McGill University, Canada. The papers include personal correspondence, postcards, greeting cards, news clippings, a will, deed, articles of incorporation, receipts, and a family tree. The photographs depict John Andreassen's father's family (C. L. and Paul Andreassen) as well as his mother's family (Thora Amundson Andreassen). More recent photos are of John Andreassen and his second wife Allison (Ella) Grant Fawcett Andreassen.
